The Wyoming Performance Management Initiative (PMI) is the planning and implementation of a better process to recognize the professionalism of the employees of the State of Wyoming.

Several teams of state employees are developing the PMI. This initiative will improve the state’s employee evaluation system. It will be a far better and more useful tool to define performance management goals and competencies.

The new system will provide clearer measures based on business-related outcomes, it will promote consistency across agency lines, and it will provide enhanced data and information for agency management, the Governor’s office and the Wyoming Legislature.

PMI is most importantly about improving communication between supervisors and workers. The performance management tool will be flexible, and will be more useful for planning, coaching and review than the current system.
